All Star Kennel located in Kalama Washington is a AKC PUG only kennel.

Also home to our future stud John Wayne is now ten months old and developing well. Future home to Betty Davis, Marlyn Monroe and Shirley Temple, to be added to our second line of quality pugs! They will be chosen this year for standard breed body type.

John Wayne***notice the dirty nose :)  Our dogs are allowed to be dogs, get dirty, play, dig in appropriate areas, and just plain have fun! We have two acres to romp on supervised, a 20X50 area to run free...covered individual kennels, dog houses, and inside nighttime kennels with individual bedrooms! In addition the moms and puglets are born and raised in our home for constant attention.  :) The playyard, kennels, and surrounding area are on TV monitors 24/7 so that when we are in the house we can glance out the window at the adult dogs or check on kennels by camera.  All of our dogs are microchipped and never alone.

Eight dogs in the future will cap the number for our small hobby kennel.  With both my husband and I retired we devote 24-7 to our dogs.  We want to insure personalized training and attention to each of our beloved pets who happen to also breed.

Our second pod of dogs will begin breeding when our first line ( Ricky and the girls) begin to retire.

We do NOT outplace dogs after they are finished with the breeding program.  They live out thier life in the same spoiled manner that they are used to from the beginning.

Litter from Ricky and Doris born 8-18-09 Jethro, Crash, Amos, and Rosie have forever homes.  :)   I am proud to say that two of these pups went to repeat buyers....:)

...nice cobby bodies, enjoying the x-pen in the kitchen. Life is good! x-pen is about three times as big as shown, a *potty area* is in the far corner, food and water are free fed in the middle, and comfy nest as shown.

Playing outside in an x-pen at seven weeks...Nice nose rolls and curls already! Pups are introduced to grass, gravel, sand, wood, cement, and kitchen flooring.  They are also introduced to other dogs, people and children. This process is all part of the socialization of early development needed before eight weeks old for a well adjusted adult dog later. Pups go home from eight to twelve weeks old, depending on the development of the individual puppy.

We are always taking applications for future Puglets....we do not advertise in the newspaper as we do NOT want impulsive decisions. Impulsive decisions lead to shelter dogs.   We do NOT breed unless we have a full waiting list.  If you can not wait for your pup, we are not the breeder for you.  :)

You can find us on the following quality websites:

puppyfind.com

breeders.net

kijiji.com

Families are encouraged to come see the adult dogs, compare us to other breeders, view the environment and read all the vet records on all the dogs.  Make an appointment and bring the kids! When you are comfortable with us, you may place a deposit.  Deposits are 50% of the entire cost and are completely refundable.  If you should change your mind, you receive the entire deposit back in full.

When the pups are born the chosen families are also encouraged to visit their puglet on our weekly open Sunday Afternoon. This is a wonderful bonding experience and very interesting to see and hear about the developmental changes in your puppy! You will be asked to NOT visit any other kennel, dog park, or shelter 48 hours before these visits. You will also be expected to take off your shoes at the door and sanitize your hands before touching your pup.  This is for your pups protection against disease before they are fully vacinated.  I am sure you understand. :)

Our cost for a pup is $500.00 for the year 2009.  Male or Female Fawn or Black.  This low price is to insure we PICK who we want to have our pups. We encourage staying in contact with us and offer lifetime support on training and wellness.  As always, your vet is the first and only person to listen to for health concerns.  We are happy to guide you and offer opinions however.

Your puglet will go home after a complete vet check, first shot, first worming, first flea medication, and appropriate weight. This is done by our vet at our expense.  :)  Your puglet will also receive a scent blanket rubbed all over sibblings and mom so that the first few nights are not hard on the pup or you! A sample of food will be sent home with you to transition to the food of your choice with out the pup getting an upset tummy. You will also receive a written health record from our vet, a weight chart from us, and your AKC paperwork at the time you take the pup home.

Your pup will be 90% potty trained when you take the little darlin' home.  We paper train to newspaper.  This method, along with a crate, will insure that your pup feels safe and know where to *go*. If you cange the method of potty training your puppy will be confused and make mistakes. Consistant work is needed in the first few months to insure a well trained dog.

Ethel Mertz

Pups can be overwhelmed easily in a new environment.  The crate will provide a safe, secure, comfortable place that the puppy already knows.  We strongly urge you to use a crate for your puppy.

At the time of your weekly visits we will offer advice on many subjects for the new pug owner.  Information about the  breed, behavior issues, potty training, exercise, grooming, diet and health care. If you live too far away for those visits, we will provide you with the same information via email.  :)

We do not ship our pups.  New pug parents can fly out and hand carry pups home at their expense.  We request that the pups stay with us for twelve weeks before they fly home.  A health certificate is required for all out of state purchases.  We will supply that from our vet at no extra cost to the buyer.

Some reviews:

From Crash's Family...

2009 Litter

I  recently decided to purchase a pug puppy after researching the breed I decided it was important to find a good reliable breeder. I was lucky enough to eventually find Diana Durgeloh of AllStarKennels.  I was first impressed by her willingness to answer any and all of my questions. Believe me, I had lots of them. Diana is not just an informed breeder but one who truly loves and cares for her pugs. She encouraged me to come visit her home and see her dogs. Located in Kalama, Wa not only does she have a beautiful and clean home but her facility for her dogs is immaculate as well. Her dogs are obviously happy, and well cared for. She encourages, puppy visits so you can bond with your puppy before you bring it home. Diana is always available even after you bring your puppy home, to talk, ask questions and what she really loves is updates on her babies. I can’t recommend enough purchasing a puppy from AllStarKennels. And Diana Durgeloh aka “The Pug Lady”.

 From Jethro's Family.....

2009 Litter

To all of you prospective puppy parents out there, I just want to tell you a little bit about Diana and All Star Kennel.  I recently purchased my second pug from them.  My first experience with All Star was in the spring of 2007 when I purchased Meisuu (MaySue) from a Ricky and Lucy litter.  My newest puppy, Jethro, from a Ricky and Doris litter and he is just as stunning as Meisuu is.  Diana and Dan go well above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to their dogs, and their customers.  Diana is so good at watching her litters and matching them up with what the new owners want and need.  Not only that, she really cares about the welfare of her dogs, both those she keeps and those she sells.  She keeps in contact with all the puppy buyers who are interested in hearing from her and her open door policy is both refreshing, and comforting.  I highly recommend All Star Kennel for that refreshing, and wonderful experience we are all looking for, when looking for a new breeder.
And from a different litter in 2009.....
My experience with Diana was/is amazing. She genuinely cares about her dogs, is a responsible breeder, and really takes an interest in each pup. I was able to visit my puglet each week they were born up until the week I could take him home. Each visit I learned more and more about the puglets, and got to bond with my little guy before I took him home. Once home, Diana continued providing support, even taking my little guy back for a few days of "boot camp" to help with crate training (since I live in an apt). Overall, I could not have had a better experience with Diana, she was fair, genuine, and very helpful with the purchase of my first pug! I would recommend her as a breeder to anyone interested.  From the moment I found Diana, I felt blessed.First, the detailed application told me that she was only willing to sell her pugs to very responsible and serious people.  Knowing that she would not give the puppies away to just anyone indicated that she loved them completely (even though she would be giving them up). Once my application was accepted, it was difficult waiting for my new bundle.  Thankfully, Diana knew I was excited and eager. So,,, she kept me up to date on all that was happening.  She sent pictures and detailed information and answered any questions throughout the whole process.  Once the pugs arrived, we were invited to visit and bound with our pugs once a week.  I felt very lucky to have a breeder so open with information and welcoming enough to allow all of us into her home. Seeing the facilities and the parents was so helpful. Yet, I think the best part is that I feel I have a friend that I can contact throughout the life of my pug.  I can share joys, photos, ask questions, and never feel like I am out of line. I only hope this is the beginning of my connection to Diana and her pugs. I can't thank her enough for my pug and for helping me throughout his life. Nicole 2009

My daughter fell in love with Pugs 2 years ago at the age of 7. I  waited to see where this would go. The love increased as we looked on the internet and she was a Pug owner to be. We did our reseaceh and came up with Diana Durgeloh from Kalama Washington, what a find !
Diana being a very consciences pug breader had a application for all potential owners witch is very commendable. We met all criteria's and we where on the right road to become a pug family.
This was a amazing experience, Diana opened her home to all pug families once a week to bond with their puppies. My family took atvantage of this wonderful time to bond with our newest member of the family.
The day finally came when we took Tinkerbell home I cried, I felt like we lost our pug family, not the case, Diana still asked about our pup and is really interested to know how things are or if she can help.
This being our first pug has been a wonderful experience, Tinkerbell came home calm and not a nervous mess. It was very obvious that the time with Diana was very nerchering  and loving. I wish everyone waiting for a puppy could have this experience.  Valerie., Astoria

5.05.05.05.05.0 Wonderful Breeder, Great Experience!

These people were a dream to buy a puppy from. They invited us into their home, introduced us to the pug parents and encouraged us to have a look around to see the environment that they raise their dogs in... without any pressure to take a dog home (but of course, how could you not!) Not only that, they also allowed us to visit our little Hank the weeks before we anticipated his homecoming. I would highly recommend the Durgelohs if you are looking for a pug. Not only are they lovely, but their dogs are beautiful with FANTASTIC personality. They are also wonderful at responding to email and encourage correspondence even after you take the dog home.

5.05.05.05.05.0 We Just Love Diana.

This Breeder is one of the best in the Oregon/Washington Area. I’m really happy we found Diana; it was by pure accident, and the best breeder that we found. Puppy environment was Ideal. Diana loves the puppies and cares for them as if her own. She doesn't just give them the basics she also gives them tons of love. She interacts with the dogs to get them ready for human touch and trust. Visiting Diana's place you can see how all her animals love her and being with people. Diana gives TONS of knowledge to new puppy owners. You can tell she have done her work, not only for the breed but of dogs too. Any question is answer unequivocally. (Also she checks her mail much and responds so fast!) This Breeder is one you will want to buy with, you don’t want a breeder that’s only nice to you when you're buying the dog. Diana wants to see her puppies again and the "parents", showing her true love of her dogs. I would surely buy with Diana again. -Christina Hanson

5.05.05.05.05.0 Truly amazing quality!

I had been patiently looking to adopt a pug puppy for quite some time. After much looking I met Diana and I knew I had found someone truly dedicated to pugs. Her attention to her pugs and their enviroment, health and wellness was beyond what I could have expected. The excellent care of her home and kennels is proof of her high standards. I found her pugs to healthy, beautiful and of great character. The puppies were all very active and obviously well cared for. Dianna has consistantly sent updates on their weights and progress. She was very imformative about their needs, what to expect and willingness to answer questions at any time. I would recommend Dianna Durgeloh to anyone interested in buying a pug puppy. I know I have made the perfect choice and I can hardly wait to bring my baby girl home!

I can not convey how much help Diana has been to our family since we decided to purchase one of her pups. Lucy and Ricky (the dog parents) are beautiful beyond compare and so well taken care of. We were impressed as well, with how the pups were taken care of. The kennel was clean, the puppies were happy and very healthy. Diana kept us up to date on weight changes and their progress with everything from when they opened their eyes, to when they started on real food. Her advise has been immeasurable and she has been a real pleasure to work with. I strongly recommend Diana and her pups to anyone looking for a new pug child to add to their family. Thanks Diana, for making this such a memorable experience for our whole family and we can not wait to bring her home!

5.05.05.05.05.0 Mooshi makes our house a home

Last Summer my boyfriend & I drove out to Washington to meet one black pug puppy. Once we laid eyes on him we knew he was the one. He has a gorgeous shiny coat with the most adorable long legs. Diane has been a dream come true as well. We email back & forth. She is more than happy to give advice and has made these new pug parents feel very comfortable knowing we can reach out to someone who is a true expert! Mooshi is a very smart, happy, sassy soul & has truly made the last few months wonderful (Plus he loves to cuddle). We hope to get out to Washington again soon to take Mooshi out for a playdate & maybe bring another baby home! -Will & Jennifer (Mooshi's parents)

5.05.05.05.05.0 First litter puppy became our family member

I would recommend anyone serious about adopting a pug puppy to strongly consider the puppies from Lucy and Ricky. My family and I adopted a boy pug from their first litter, and he's not only beautifully put together but his disposition and health are perfect. Diana and Dan Durgeloh take intense attention to the details and requirements necessary in assuring the litter pups are healthy, and well taken care of in addition to the parent pugs. They not only gave us our little guy, but are willing to stay in contact with us and lend any advice needed that we don't have answers to ourselves. They've become like extended family and it's nice to have a breeder take such a lifetime commitment so seriously. They obviously don't do this for the money as much as they do it for the love of the breed. The prices are more than reasonable when you consider what exactly it is you're investing in. We couldn't be happier with our pug, or our experiences with the Durgeloh family.

5.05.05.05.05.0 Puppies raised in a loving home!

I had the extreme pleasure of meeting Diana and her puppies yesterday afternoon at her family's home in Washington. My first impression was deep admiration for the care Diana obviously puts into the upbringing of these young pups. They are well socialized and well loved by Diana and her family! Diana has started the puppies on paper training, and they are all extremely healthy and extremely attractive pug puppies with sweet dispositions and adorable, distinct personalities. I am confidant that when I bring home my pug, he will bring with him the love and affection that Diana and her family have shown him during these first few weeks of his life -- and the importance of that type of socialization truly is invaluable to a new puppy! I would strongly recommend Diana and her puppies to anyone looking to adopt a new pug!

A spoiled past pup in his new forever home...helping fold the laundry....

5.05.05.05.05.0 Top of the line services and beautiful pugs

Diana was very conscientious about staying in contact through email and the telephone before I had even committed to a purchase. Upon arriving at her home, it was obvious that her pug family was well taken care of. The puppies were safely nestled in a crate in a quiet back room where the conditions were immaculately clean. Diana had detailed information about each pup's growth, eating habits, and personality. She was very informed about the health and care of pugs. I was so touched by her attentiveness and commitment to maintaining a nurturing environment. The pug parents are on site and have beautiful faces and heads as well as cobby, well-proportioned bodies. They are friendly, clean, and well behaved. Since choosing my pug, Diana has reported my pup's progress and growth. I know that when I bring my pug home, he will be healthy, happy, and well adjusted.
